Have you ever been to London? I have been a few times: a 12-hour layover on the way to Thailand; and again for two weeks for a visit with a friend over Christmas and New Years. It’s a magical city – demure and seductive, and full of life. When you get to know London style, you see that it’s sophisticated and glamorous and understated. Londoners choose timeless and classic wardrobe pieces. Many Londoners wore basic solid colors reminiscent of a capsule wardrobe. What nail polish color goes well with a classic style? That’s right, solid colors that take you back to basics. Let me introduce you to Color Street London Calling.
Color Street London Calling Overview
Color Street London Calling is a gorgeous reddish burgundy nail polish. The creme finish makes it classy and sassy and sophisticated. If you’re looking for the perfect everyday polish, this is going to be the choice for you. It makes a statement without being excessive.

Here’s what you’ve been waiting for: photos of Color Street London Calling on nails.
As always with Color Street solids, make sure that you apply the nail polish strips to completely clean nails. If there is any residue from previous manicures, it will show. You can see in this next image that there are a few “blips” in the application. It was probably one of the easiest solids to apply.
Color Street London Calling looks amazing with a matte top coat. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times: I don’t like a matte top coat. It just looks dry. However, I love the effect of the matte top coat on top of the deep colors of Color Street London Calling. It looks sophisticated and amazing. You can find the matte coat that I used HERE.
Color Street London Calling Review
Color Street London Calling applied super easily for me – I have personally found that they went on like butter. I recommend a slight pull to make sure it applies smoothly.
If you’ve ever had trouble putting on Color Street solids, let me give you some pro tips here.
- You don’t NEED special tools to apply solids, but a rubber tipped cuticle pusher will make it exponentially easier. You can get a multi-pack HERE.
- Application is key: if you mess up, it’s ok! There are enough strips in a pack that you can try again. If you mess up, just remove the messed up one. Adding a second coat WON’T fix application issues – I found out the hard way. If there is a wrinkle, just use the cuticle pusher to smooth it out, and if that doesn’t work, start over. You’ll get the hang of it quickly!
